-
Toxicological test was carried out at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University Sains Malaysia (USM) Penang.

-
The toxicological test was conducted on rats to determine the toxicity potential of Streptomyces GanoSA1 powder based on the following 2 tests below:
ACUTE ORAL TOXICITY STUDY
to provide information on health hazards likely to arise from short-term exposure to a product tested via the inhalation route.
-
The results show that the LD50 of orally administered Streptomyces GanoSA1 in female rats is higher than 2000mg/kg.

-
Oral administration of the crude extract at the highest dose of 2,000mg/kg resulted in no mortalities or evidence of adverse effects, implying that Streptomyces GanoSA1 is nontoxic.
The effect of oral administration of different doses of Streptomyces GanoSA1 on female rats body weight, toxic symptoms, internal organs and mortality
ACUTE DERMAL TOXICITY STUDY
-
There was no toxic sign and symptoms observed when the female rats were dermally treated with 2000 mg/kg of Streptomyces GanoSA1

-
Post mortem of the dermally treated animals at the end of the experiment also did not show any changes in any of the rat’s internal organ
The effect of dermal administration of different doses of Streptomyces GanoSA1 on female rats body weight, toxic symptoms, internal organs and mortality
to identify thee possible hazard to a population repeatedly exposed to the test substance.
